After years of regulatory uncertainty and outright hostility, this year marks a turning point for blockchain and crypto in the US. There has been much coverage of former president Donald Trump’s courtship of the space, which I witnessed recently in Nashville. Much less has been said about Democrats’ rush to back away from their antagonism toward the technology, most viscerally embodied by SEC chair Gary Gensler. With Democratic nominee Kamala Harris reportedly reaching out to investors including Mark Cuban to better understand crypto, the Overton Window has rapidly shifted in the industry’s favor. And I know that the innovators and builders we work with can harness their battle-hardened entrepreneurial skills to prosper in these favorable conditions.
